Text messaging is a great way to communicate…but a terrible way to drive.
In recent years, studies have shown that an alarming number of people text while they drive. Sadly, this has led to many accidents and even deaths. As this report from the ABC affliate in Austin shows, a shocking number of teenagers admit they drive while texting:

If you are a parent, please talk to your kids about driving while texting. Explain to them not only it’s not smart, it’s not legal in 14 states. Tell them about their responsibility. If necessary, buy an application that will disable texting while a person is driving. Above all, lead by example and don’t drive while texting. No matter how important the message is, it can wait.
