Victory Medical Center Pharmacy Glutathione Recall: Lots, Symptoms, and the Lawsuit

Last updated:

Quick answer: On August 5, 2026, Victory Medical Center Pharmacy of Austin, Texas recalled three lots of compounded glutathione 200 mg/mL after pharmacy testing identified elevated bacterial endotoxin levels. The vials went to patients in Texas, Florida, and New York. It was the first of four Texas glutathione recalls, and The Law Offices of John David Hart has filed suit against the pharmacy. If you became ill after a glutathione IV or injection, call 817-870-2102.

Reactions the pharmacy has reported

Victory Medical Center Pharmacy says it has received reports of adverse events including fever, chills, severe headache, nausea, vomiting, tachycardia (a racing heart), changes in blood pressure, body aches, and injection site reactions.

The recall notice states that there is a reasonable probability that injectable products with elevated endotoxin levels could cause significant medical events including fevers, hypotension, inflammatory reactions, anaphylactic shock, and death.

The lawsuit we filed

On August 14, 2026, The Law Offices of John David Hart filed suit in Travis County, Texas against Victory Medical Center Pharmacy, LLC on behalf of a Texas woman who received an IV infusion containing compounded glutathione from Lot 1981940 at a Texas wellness clinic on June 17, 2026, weeks before the recall was announced. According to the petition, she developed head and neck pressure, uncontrollable shaking, and elevated heart rate and blood pressure within minutes, was taken by ambulance, and remained hospitalized for several days. The suit alleges negligence, products liability in the alternative, and gross negligence.

If you received a recalled Victory Medical Center lot

  1. Stop using it.
  2. Photograph the vial label: lot number, expiration date, pharmacy name, and your prescription label.
  3. Talk to a lawyer before you hand the vial back. The pharmacy is arranging to retrieve recalled product and is offering refunds. If you had a reaction, the vial may be evidence, and you should not sign a release tied to a refund before getting advice.
  4. Get medical care if you are unwell, and tell the doctor what you were given and when.
  5. If a clinic gave you the IV, ask it in writing which pharmacy and lot your glutathione came from.

The pharmacy has directed recall questions to (512) 279-0985.

Part of a larger pattern

Four Texas compounding pharmacies have recalled injectable glutathione since August 2026: Victory Medical Center Pharmacy, Optimal Balance Pharmacy, Centric Compounding, and Greenwich Rx. On August 27, 2026, the FDA said pharmacies tied to adverse event reports had obtained their glutathione from a single lot supplied by Medisca Inc., labeled dietary supplement grade (what the FDA notice says). The CDC has reported more than 25 people sick in at least four states.
