FORT WORTH, Texas – John David Hart of the Law Offices of John David Hart in Fort Worth has filed suit on behalf of the family of a Cleburne woman who was killed in a Johnson County, Texas, truck accident on September 11, 2008. MacLean & Boulware in Cleburne also represent the family.
Mrs. Henson was driving her vehicle southbound on Farm Road 157 in Venus, Texas, with her husband, Thomas, as a passenger. An 18-wheeler owned and operated by Pioneer Drilling Services, Ltd. was traveling northbound on FM 157. The tractor-trailer was driven by 21 year-old Daniel R. Armstrong. A large piece of oilfield equipment came off of the trailer and crushed the Henson vehicle, causing Mrs. Henson’s death. According to the preliminary police report, the driver of the semi-truck failed to control his speed and the load was not secured.
Rhonda’s husband, Thomas, her three sons, Justin, 18, Brandon, 15, and Corey, 14, and her parents, Rickey and Mary Hayes, have filed suit in Johnson County against Pioneer Drilling Company (Amex:PDC), PDC MGMT. Co., Pioneer Drilling Services Ltd. and its employee, Daniel Armstrong.
“This family’s tragic loss highlights the dangers of unsafe truck driving and gas exploration operations,” said attorney John David Hart of the Law Offices of John David Hart in Fort Worth. Attorney Hart continues, “Safety must be an integral part of the development of the Barnett Shale. Oil and gas companies have a responsibility to operate trucks and equipment safely.”
